Hotel Monasterio

A former 16th century monastery that has been immaculately restored into a beautiful and centrally-located hotel, retaining both a colonial and ancient indigenous theme.
Hotel Monasterio oozes history. It is perfect for those seeking a centrally-located, five star quality option which also honours the unique history of its fascinating home, Cuzco.

Hotel Monasterio - The Details

As you would expect from a Belmond hotel, no stone has been left unturned. The 126 rooms that were formerly the dormitories for the Jesuits are now far from simple living quarters; many rooms even include oxygen enrichment systems to help with altitude acclimatisation. There are two excellent restaurants within the grounds of this hotel, and a spa offering massages and beauty treatments.

Hotel Monasterio - Activities

Handily, Hotel Monasterio provides an in-house historian to guide you around the historically significant areas of the hotel; it is a great way to get a better sense of this intriguing and distinctive place!

You have a variety of options for exploring the great outdoors here, other than simply wandering the surrounding city. You can go rafting in the Sacred Valley, trek to Choquequirao, and also use this as a base before embarking on your trek to Machu Picchu, which many opt to start from this diverting city.
