Chile is a great honeymoon destination for the right people! It suits outdoorsy couples going on honeymoon between December and March. Start with the capital of Santiago as a base, perhaps staying at one of the sumptuous hotels located at the vineyards as a good relaxation option, and then fly down to Patagonia to explore the prestigious National Parks, or fly north to the eerie, romantic and moon-like Atacama desert.

Why go to Chile for your honeymoon?

  • Landscapes: diverse, contrasting, bold and truly stunning. From the fiords and glaciers of Torres del Paine in Patagonia, to the arid and deserted Atacama, to the lush vineyards around the Central Valley. Chile is a beautiful.

  • Which are the most romantic hotels in Chile?

In the Atacama desert in the north of Chile you will find some great luxury retreat hotels in which to rest your heads. This is a good place to share traveller's tales with fellow explorers who have spent their days exploring the area. Alto Atacama and Tierra Atacama are our favourites. If it's wildlife and nature that you are interested in a trip to Easter Island is exciting; the Explora Easter Island offers panoramic views of the island and sea. In Torres del Paine you might want to consider The Singular; a converted abatoir that now combines luxury with history!

What are the top Chile honeymoon experiences?

Chile is all about the great outdoors and exploring the length of this extremely long and thin country. Here are a couple of our suggestions for your Chile holiday:
  • Torres del Paine National Park: an iconic and people-pleasing National Park that is at the top of many an explorer's bucket list. If walking, trekking, ice climbing or cycling are your thing, then Torres del Paine park may be your mecca.
  • Easter Island: the mysterious island with its moai statues that traces history back thousands of years .
  • Valparaiso Art: a bohemian coastal city made famous by the romantic words of Chilean poet Pablo Neruda. Valparaiso is a colourful and arty location with a cool vibe.
  • Wine: there are lots of vineyards throughout the Central Valley and not visiting it would be depriving yourselves of a wonderful afternoon.
  • Stargazing: there is no light pollution in the Atacama Desert and some of the hotels have stargazing experiences at nights. Cuddle up under the stars, with a night cap to fight off the cold at altitude.

  • These are just a couple of options that you might enjoy. Please do get in touch to find out more about how we could plan something truly special for your Chilean honeymoon.

Our top 4 Chile honeymoon tips

  • Fully explore the locations that you have travelled a long way to get to. Getting to Patagonia and the Atacama takes a long time and there is more than enough to warrant a full four days in each.
  • You will fly in/out of Santiago. Santiago is moderately interesting with a couple of good museums, but Chile is all about the outdoors and the sooner you get into it the better.
  • You must try empanadas. A small buttery savoury pastry filled with vegetables or meat. They melt in your mouth.
  • If you are visiting Patagonia and Atacama on one trip then speak to us about the discounts offered if you combine properties that work together. It can save you a significant amount of money.
