Salta

Salta and its surroundings are slightly off the main well-trodden tourist trail, but here you will find beautiful architecture, insightful museums and an eclectic mix of scenery, ranging from salt flats to ragged terracotta mountains.
South of Salta is the small town of Cafayate in the Calchaquies Valley, a region with masses of vineyards and wineries that produce some delicious classics.

Close to Salta, in the Purnamarca Valley, is the majestic 'Seven Colours' Hill. This unique range originates from a very specific and geological past involving marine sediments, tectonic movements and lake and river influences. Local legend tells instead that the children, who refused to accept the mundane original colour, painted the hills during the night.

From here travel up to Bolivia and visit the salt flats of Uyuni and capital city of La Paz for a Souh America activity packed holiday.
