Sachatamia Lodge, like most lodges in this birders' paradise, is constructed from wood. The lodge itself is simple in design, with 14 comfortable, yet simple private bungalows with small verandas and windows that look out into the dense cloud forest and a dining area where breakfast. This lodge is all about the setting, and it is not luxurious. After a day of birding and exploring this humid environment you will be happy to refresh in the pool or enjoy a snack while watching the plethora of Ecuadorian hummingbirds feasting on the feeders that are scattered around the property.
What we also like the large windows throughout this property, which make it feel as if you are fully immersed in the stunning environment here. It's decent accommodation, in the midst of superb nature and peace and tranquillity. We love it as it adds something new to a trip around Ecuador that many people skip.
